While some of us are still debating that Vinyl, CD, DVD, Blue-Ray and what not is/isn't better than file based (as in computer based) audio, the next big transition might be starting already... We all know that youngsters like convenience and couldn't car less about sound quality. That's what the likes of Spotify, Deezer and -above all- Sonos thrive on. But convenience might become accessible to the high-end market, soon enough. Here's a Sonos-alike device minus the mediocre Sonos audio quality: the Devialet Phantom. Discussed here on CALink that to a premium streaming source that's little known but nevertheless more or less booming: www.qobuz.com And you're all set for the future. I know, it' kind of a provocative title, but one day, sooner than later, it will be reality. It already IS a reality in non-high fidelity circles... Now I'm wondering, how many will join this thread... And all you English folk, don't start about the fact that both companies mentioned are French (yes they are, the French are leading the high end streaming audio business, it seems). Cheers, Marc
