Hi Javier, I have got old Sonic Frontiers TransDac purchased in 97 , so it's yet another piece of old audio equipment. I think it may be time to apply some mods to this rig. This DAC uses two Burr Brown IC PCM1702PJ , input receiver - Crystal CS8412, digital filter NPC5813APT with 8x oversampling , two pairs of AD844 and AD847 for I/V and LPF/Buffer. There is nothing fancy it accepts only 16/44.1 , 16/48 and 24/41.1 as i've discovered recently. One mod has been applied mounting AES XLR digital input. What about replacing IC for I/V and buffer stages ? I've found that these IC may be swapped with THS4031 for I/V and AD825 for buffer with applying additional decoupling electrolytic and ceramic caps. May be it has some sense to replace old electrolytic caps across PCB. May apply some photos on request. Thanks for your opinion .

I don't think you'll gain anything by replacing opamps Sergey.

I've replaced all old electrolytic caps with new ones of same value rated at 105 degC. This mod provided some improvement in sound ( subjective ) . I wasn't anal about manufacturer of caps so obvious Epcos was involved in this upgrade. Thanks to Frans and Javier for their kind help !
