Hi Simon that's great got your W10 up and running, did you manage to activate it also? Sorry I am unable to help with the email as I have never used outlook, I'm sure Javier will be able to set you right.

Simon if your W7 is home you can only upgrade to home, if you have Pro you can keep with that. I've used Home since day one can't see any advantage for you and I with Pro.

Okay Simon found the file with the instructions, You now need to get the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool. Head to the Windows 10 download page here is the link.............. www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10and select Download tool now. Once the file’s downloaded, open it and agree to the various terms and conditions that are required. Select Upgrade this PC now when given the choice. If you don’t have enough space on your hard disk, you might need to free up space and run the installation from a USB stick. I used a USB stick think you need 8GB The setup will guide you through this. Keep files or start afresh? You will be given the choice as to whether you want to keep your files and programs, or start afresh with none of your programs and files. The latter option is better for starting with a clean operating system, and if you backed up your files, you’ll be able to move the files and programs you need back on to your computer as and when you need them. But keeping everything is arguably simpler and avoids you running into possible issues if you’ve lost the licence keys for some of the software you’re running on Windows 7. Final steps Sit back and let the upgrade happen. This could take a few hours depending on the speed of your PC and internet connection. Your PC will restart itself a few times, but eventually you’ll see the welcome screen for Windows 10. You’ll need to make choices about some privacy arrangements and sign into your Microsoft account if you have one. I'd recommend getting a Microsoft account on your W7 PC before you start. Then search for ‘activation’ in the Start Menu and click on it to see whether your Windows 10 licence is activated. If your Windows isn’t activated, you’ll need to buy a licence but most likely it will activate if your W7 PC is legit and you have got a Microsoft account. This is when I entered my neighbours W7 product key and got activated. Best of luck hope it works for you. Alan

Simon I'm not 100% on this but don't buy if you have a legit copy of W7. W10 upgrade from W7 was still active a few months ago when I rebuilt my neighbours W7 PC for my own use. I just used the PC case as it was smaller and much lighter than my own, new motherboard, power supply, memory, CPU, Solid State Drive, the only parts I used from my own computer were the DVD and a 1 TB hard drive. It's not generally known but there is a way to do the upgrade legally. I'll have a look and see if I can find the method again. AS long as you have the W7 legit Product Key to enter at activation, if not you might find a friend who has moved to a tablet and still got the old PC and Product Key. You only need the Key.
