Well, my mediaplayer is nowadays DVico Tvix Slim HD1, but the interface is quite kludgy. Thus I'm contemplating building one around Raspberry, as it's got WiFi and BT built-in. The only thing it's lacking is the connection to internal HDD, but I think it's easily overcome with an USB-to-SATA -adapter. Anyone with experience on RPi here? What would be the OS of choice for such a player? Most of my audio/video is with my computer, so NFS support would be welcome.

I admit that a plug into the headphone may look nicer. The cable entry point is slanted making mounting a socket there a bit challenging as well. Could you take a close-up shot?

Nice, that's most likely one of the first things to do when I lay my hands on these

All this discussion just strenghtens my resolve to order these from Thomann asap One question crossed my mind, how hard would it be to swap that protruding jack-thingy into female receptable?

It was once said that Heep never really got the appreciation they deserved but here in Finland... I recall that as a kid I did watch Gypsy Live (Camden Palace) from VHS over and over... Still love it.

Muaha, what size are those? 0603? Or even smaller? The sizes I'm not yet familiar with... But seemingly tine, if the pitch of those jumpers is 2.54mm.

I'd like to keep it DIY, that's why CMOY or similar design would be nice... I need to practice my soldering We had a test at work, results will come in few weeks... Let's see how it goes. (SMD-operator with MyData pick&place)

Yeah, that's a downside. Other option would be to use line-out via that 30-pin connector, but then EQu would be useless.

Yeah, that's the plan. Maybe I'll get a kit later on, depending on price - I saw few that were damn cheap... But that kinda price is usually a warning sign. Idea about digital pot just came to my mind, that way I could use the iPhone to serve source in low volume and let the amp do it's job.

CMOY is actually the design I've thought of, either getting a kit from JDSLabs or Fred... Then again, as you spoke about sensitivity, what about digital pot? Wonder how silly that is

Oh, could someone nudge me towards a decent portable amp (DIY, if possible), if one is needed? Mainly for use with old iPhone 3GS serving as player and these Superluxes as cans. Music is played with EQu, so different EQ's might not be necessary. (But added bonus )
