only bought it to fill the gap while my micro idsd was away being repaired. got the micro back and decided there was nothing to choose between them sound quality wise, so sold the mojo on.

.......... decided there was nothing to choose between them sound quality wise, so sold the mojo on. I find dac's much the same as well, Simon if I'm honest. I tried some demo units lined up in a hifi shop once, and really couldn't tell one from the other, although there have been reports of 'night and day differences' etc!!! Not for me. More important for me is their connectivity, which is why I like the Ifi so much, plus the sheer power of the amp section. Oooh ..... Plus the bit rate that they will accept at top whack I suppose.

But both IFi and mojo aren't just DACs. They are AMP + DAC. Do both units sound absolutely identical regardless?

I am going to pretend NOT to have seen that 'how does this and that compare' question.

The fission powered Ember is 3.14159x better than the coal fired V200, which is so 19th century.

The fission powered Ember is 3.14159x better than the coal fired V200, which is so 19th century. that depends on the tube used....... or have you based this on an average for all the tubes that are available for Ember? if so its gonna rise to 3.14165 when we get the new psu. on a serious note, i like both and use both daily. Ember is the only one that can be used as a pre-amp to my speaker amp, so if i could keep just one it would be Ember. it looks nicer too.
