Neo, I'd recommend the Clip Zip. Better menu and expandable memory. I have found something curious with it, where some files seem to click on replay. I think it's higher resolution mp3 so I think the Zip is a better but although a little more expensive.

The Zip is a great player. I still use mine in spite of having three Fiios X series. The real Fiio bargain one imo is the X1. Superb for what it plays and the quality of sound at around £99. Doubles as a good home player as well as portable with its line out socket. www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B016ID3O6E?keywords=Fiio%20x1&qid=1455277436&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1My favourite is the old x3 but my posh one is the x5. However x1 is brillant value for money and well built.

I would love to gamble on one of the cheaper Fiios. I listen to speakers more nowadays. I might be getting a new job where I'll have to use the public transport.. Shudders Im on the fence on getting a new DAP or getting a noise cancelling headphone like the QuietComfort. Also I have been using a Cowon J3 with my SE215 and Atrios for nearly 6 years now without any problem. My zip whenever I go running..now I might be jinxing it.. btw how many of you use/have been using custom iems?

I use custom iem's with the Senn ie8. Only because I used to use them for work. Now, on other iem's I use comply tips which suit me really well. For my customs, I had to get a mould of my ears made and that was sent off to the company to make the tips. They are very good, but need replacing but it's just too expensive now I'm retired, so I stick with the Complies. www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Comfy+tips

Read elsewhere that the AGPtEK A02 is a decent cheap player. There are some pretty decent lower priced player in the market now (xduoo, Ruizu). As for myself, I have a 1st gen. Fiio X3. Got it paired with the Fiio e12a and it sounds pretty darn good.
