At that price it is quite a nice DAC: USB isolation, up to DSD128 and PCM1795. Warning, as it doesn't seem to have ASIO drivers it won't play DSD using Foobar though JRiver or HQPlayer will work.

Bit pefect PCM will be no problem. Only DSD is but I know Maxim is working on making the SACD plugin also work through WASAPI with DoP though dont hold your breath, he is busy with his life andit can take quite a while until he releases it.

I remember looking at the DA-300 USB a year so ago and think it was around the same price. At the time I was looking for a DAC with an amp section but the amp on this looked poor.
I'm now considering a DAC that does 24/192 to replace my MF V90-DAC so cheers for reminding me of this Simon. The V90-DAC does 24/192 but only over co-ax which my new motherboard lacks so limited to 24/96 on the other inputs. DSD I have no real interest in right now but it's nice to have the option should it be needed.
The alternative is another Mojo I think and then I can ditch both the V90 and K18.

i am undecided on whether to try one of these. i was only looking at a cheap stop gap while my micro is repaired. this if i got it would spend most of its time in its box, once the micro returns. ultimately my plan is to replace the micro with a desktop dac, but i would imagine the denon could be a step back. i would also prefer JUST a dac, something like the 2qute but cheaper,as i have no need for another headphone amp. the aune s16 has me interested along with the teac 503, as these both have good spec with displays that i can read.
