Done no shopping yet. Just finished the tree. Put lights up outside my pub. It's so mild at the moment, the chiminea is going to get lit up tomorrow night and we'll sit outside with it. Can't motivate myself to go to a load of shops though TBH. Years ago, Helena and I stayed in 'The Village'. We met the actor who was in the Full Monty there ..... Robert Carlyle. He was on holiday as well. We have a metal bike in the garden so I stuck lights on it.... My wrapped up palms on the decking are wrapped up so I treated them like Christmas trees ... I used the washing line and the big palm outside my 'pub' to dangle lights on .... This is my 'pub' by night ..... And our Christmas tree with memories of Florida from another palm and a photo.... I can't believe that another year has wafted by.

You're ahead of me, Ian. I still have to go out to the woods and cut down a tree. Bonnie did hang some lights by the front door, though. At least we finally have snow!

Loads of time on my hands, Joe. Quite enjoyed myself putting it all up actually.
Might have a Winter barbecue out there tomorrow night. It's turned quite mild here now!!

We are starting the Cristmasisation. Up to loft for all the bits. Today will be wreath on door, flashy lights in front room window. Tree will have to wait until after Monday when we are having blinds fitted in the sitting room bay window, which is where the tree will go.
Next week's tree decoration will be accompanied, as usual, by Kings College Choir carols CD (I'm not at all religious though) played VERY loudly. Love those organ pedal notes :-)
Maybe a drop of the old Harveys to help things along. An annual must-have.
Tonight we will be mostly turning down the storage heaters. It's far too mild for December.

Finally got the shopping done yesterday in Bluewater.
Daughter went off to her friend's after school and Helena finished work so we both shot off for the day to do some shopping and watch a film.
All done!!

Our town's turned on the lights now & I have to say it's fairly spectacular. We're off out tonight to watch the Nativity Play in one of the two main squares. We watched some of last nights rehearsals and it's a bit weird. Put it this way, it seems to be the basic Nativity thing but with guns & dogs. Not even real dogs. People dressed as dogs. Still the other of the two squares is hosting a Christmas between now & the big day. It sells all the local produce but also has wine-tasting, champagne-tasting, Pastis-tasting & the most amazing Mulled Wine I've ever experienced for €2 per cup. Happy days..
