Well, back from our jaunt to Benidorm. Every day was sunny and we did good sunbathing by the pool. Odd, though, to see the locals dressed in fur-collared coats, puffer jackets etc. To them 20C must feel chilly. Or are they just keen to show off the winter fashions? Anyhow, saw this in a Spanish gift shop. Isn't a silent alarm clock just the thng?

You could have tried a little detour to Madrid. Next Tuesday we'll reach -3°C. Right now is sunny and 13°C but it has been rainy and colder all week.

Crikey. Colder than here. We're at 7c with fog!! That's a sudden drop from 13 to -3.
A silent alarm clock would be nice. You wake up because you think that the alarm should have gone off by now.......

That is not how it works. It comes with a wire that you attach to your family jewels. When the preset time comes it sends a discharge that doesnt stop until you press the button on top. It makes sure you will never be late.

I use a silent alarm clock on weekends and every summer. I turn off the alarm. Then i just get up when I feel like it. Can't wait for retirement. Assuming they don't confiscate all our pensions. Getting a little cold here after some pretty solid rain. -3 C this morning. Same tomorrow. Was getting up to 16 last week. We get cold air from Alaska. It's -14 there right now inland. But Minnesota is going to be a balmy -31C.

I ended up retiring because I wasn't too well Ron, but I must admit ..... I love it. It's so nice to get up every day without pressure.
The Uk is warmer than it should be at the moment, which is a bit weird.

Strange California has been having longer lasting "Fall" weather the last 5 years or so. Summer weather seems to arrive sooner than when I was a boy as well. Hum..... I have the next two weeks off. Only day I will need an alarm will be Christmas Day! Maybe I can spend some serious time listening to music. Been spending some time with the HD600 borrowed from a friend. Really have become quite taken with the sound. They just seem to work well with all my amps. And they aren't as sensitive to source material as other cans. Tempted to ask for a used pair for Christmas. Like I need another pair of headphones.

I use both the hd650 and 600, Ron. Two great headphones. I always find myself returning to the HD-650. But with some mods I made to the HD-800's they are getting more headtime. There is just something about the HD600. Maybe it's the nice balanced, neutral sound. I have never heard a headphone that scales so well. And a used pair can really be a bargain. Won't be getting a pair soon. We lost are last dog on Sunday. Just found out the vet bill for the "service" is over £320. Guess only the well to do can afford pets in the new economy.

I'm sorry to hear about your dog, Ron. It's always very sad when a pet goes.
I never forgot the day when my Dad's pet bird escaped and flew out the window. He found it luckily but the bird did it a second time. I went to his house to help. Got a sighting but it wouldn't come down. We left it and came back later but we never saw it again. Probably attacked by a predator.
Dad was devastated. He got very attached to it and wouldn't get another bird.

Get another dog Ron. You won't regret it. It won't diminish the memory of Girlie. In fact, it'll only enhance it. Last week the Indy community in Scotland lost Malky, one of our most fmous canine mascots. He has already been replaced by Malcolm, a rescue dog.

Thanks guys for your kind thoughts. We will get another dog at some point. Only time I didn't have one was in college . We're thinking of traveling a little first. Between work and finding good boarding for two dogs we haven't been anywhere in several years. Hoping to go back to Hawaii. It's beautiful, peaceful and only a 5 and 1/2 hour flight. Only need to save up some money, once we pay off the ridiculous vet bill. Prices are getting so high here I fear people are putting their pets down instead of treating them. Even a simple x-ray is out of some people's reach. Every time I brought one of them in the last few times it was over £240! Had a good 16 year run with both dogs, they were sisters. Lost them both in less than 3 months. Must be genetics. Lots of great memories. Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Hoping my American football team can win a second game before the season is over January 1st.
