What a year this has been.
Although I'm not really a fan of Status Quo, they have a really positive outlook and are decent chaps.
Rick had a heart attack last summer and he left the band as a result and now, out in Spain, he had a shoulder problem which needed sorting. He got a severe infection which killed him. Only 68 as well. Such a shame.

It's not 2016 that's the problem. It's that we're all getting older.

I guess .....
But so many this year and all around 60/70. Not hitting their 80's .... just seems a bit too soon. In his case, it was an operation which started off some kind of infection which did him. Maybe we are all weaker in our 60s than we think? It is worrying.
He'd planned some solo work next year as well, so he wasn't expecting it.

not ever been a big fan of the Quo but this is a horrible way for his family to remember christmas eve, means it will always be a sad time for them from now on.

A few months ago, I would have agreed with Gordon. It's 2016. Some years seem to be more troublesome than others. 2016; can't think of a worse year for so many reasons. I think John Oliver summed it up best. Search 2016 John Oliver on YouTube . Warning mature content and adult language. And explosions!

The worst album of theirs for me was the Unplugged thing. Most of their career, they've kind of redone the same thing over and over and then they redid it without electrics which took its power away as well!!! Terrible thing for the family's Christmas, but now I think they're going to fight over the will. It's been quite a year for big name deaths. I looked at a list today and there are quite a few I'd forgotten about on it as well. Not just musicians but showbiz folk.

My Mum died on Christmas Eve. That was some phone call. Dang! Sorry to hear that. Puts a real damper on festivities, to be sure. My condolences.

My Mum died on Christmas Eve. That was some phone call. Wow. I can only imagine. Also to be reminded every year. At least with my Mum and Dad, the date becomes kind of blurred although my wife seems to have it lodged in her head!!

Thanks. It wasn't this Christmas but I'll never forget the floor disappearing from under me. Life goes on though. I do kinda regret now that we never had kids but I don't think I'd have made a particularly good role model. Maybe dodged a bullet there.

I don't really know what makes a good Dad tbh Gordon. We're all different. My first set of kids didn't really see that much of me what with work and being away, but Lucy sees me every day now I'm an old geezer at home. Not sure which is worse!!! I think being an older dad is easier than being younger though. Too many pressures when you're young and although I'm a bit of a nutter now, I was a total fruit and nut when I was younger. Can't believe she's 11 already and getting close to high school!! That's when the troubles start ........
