The 'fun' part of the LSR305 is that the treble isn't really directional as with most other speakers. You get a solid 'image' regardless where one stands. This is due to the strange 'horn'. You can 'vary' the amount of bass the sub. I suggest to buy a low pass for it. Around 50 or 70Hz and only use that with the sub. Just came back from the audio shop, got the two-way crossover (it was just a bit more expensive than either the high pass or the low pass), it will take quite a while for me to get some results as I play around with it. Worse come to worse, I'll just use the low pass part of it Meanwhile, I am surprised, this is the first time I heard about the treble being non-directional (and that the LSR is "fun", most people say it is "neutral" e.t.c.). I didn't notice it but I did notice how nice its imaging is though!

The LSR305 is not 'fun' in character. It is 'analytic' One of its most important assests is that the treble and 'soundstage' is non directional. You can clearly hear this in demo rooms where multiple speakers can be auditioned. Walk from left to right and you hear all kinds of phasing effects and the image 'shifting'with most monitors, even Genelecs. Not so with the 305. That, to me, is the fun part of that speaker... not very directional.
Have a play with the filter. Should sound better with filter than without.

Too much coding at work I guess I am quite unsure what you meant by phasing effects; I did demo many monitors (not the Genelecs, will have to find another audio shop that has them) along with the LSR before buying it and didn't notice any shifts in their image shifting. Are "good" speakers supposed to be directional or does this even matter? Thanks! The filter is already improving the sound but I am not sure how to exactly describe it. I will let it settle a bit before further judgement
