I own a Sunrise III and a Polaris, and I've been wondering, are there some jumpers that require you to turn off the amp or unplug headphones before moving them? Or, should you always turn off the amp before messing with jumpers? Thanks

You can safely play with jumper settings without switching the amp off.
With some jumpers you may hear a 'tick' and when setting the output R jumpers a small to quite large change in output level is heard.
This depends on the setting and headphone impedance.
