Hi Solderdude,
I have an old, beat up pair of planar Technics EAH-820s that date from around 1978. They sound surprisingly modern, and sound better in my opinion than a stock Fostex T50RP MKIII. Despite the foam having all but disintegrated in the earpads, bass is still present and more than adequate and integrates well with the mids. I was wondering if you’d be interested in my measuring them? I can also throw in a Sony MDR-CD450 and Koss PRO/99 Digital into the mix
Thanks.

I had a planar Technics headphone when working at Technics service centre ... long ago. It was more than decent sounding but did not use headphones in those days.
Would be interesting to measure the bunch. Only when you are in the EU though otherwise shipping and possible taxes will get in the way.

Fair enough. But I was thinking of just giving the EAH-820 to you on the condition that if you grow tired of them you send them back to me (I’ll pay for postage of course) I didn’t pay too much for them so paying $40 to $50 to ship them to the EU won’t be a hassle. I feel that they would find a good home with you.

Thanks for the offer but think they would get little headtime after the initial measurements and evaluation was done.
Shipping costs simply are too high for this.
