Hey, All,
I received my Project Ember 2 today and hooked it up to my RME ADI-2 FS DAC, I have to say that this is the best sounding combination that I have found since starting my Audiophile journey. I am listening with my Hifiman Anandas and it’s the perfect combination!!!
I just want to make sure that I’m using this to the best ability. Would do you think - low, medium, or high jumpers on the ember should be selected? What should the module setting be - with or without?
Also, how should I have the DAC set up? DAC volume on max? Or low dac volume with high volume level on the ember?
Thanks so much in advance!

For the Ananda the output R selectors basically act as a passive volume control. Should you hear slight background hiss with no signal playing you can set it to M or H Setting it to M or H also means you will have to turn the volume up a bit. This way you can 'play' with the amount of tube harmonics as well. So... play around with various combo's and see what settings you prefer.

Hi, fellow (new) Project Ember owner here, does "H" give the largest amount of tube harmonics? Thanks!

Only when you are using a headphone that has a flat impedance (such as most planar headphones)

Only when you are using a headphone that has a flat impedance (such as most planar headphones) Thanks! Came across this (https://www.head-fi.org/threads/output-impedance-and-planar-magnetics.745041/) while trying to understand why, now I think I get the idea. So for headphones with dynamic drivers, their non-linearity across frequencies messes up transforms all the "nice" harmonics? Guess this is the fun part of playing around with different tubes. Btw, your site (https://diyaudioheaven.wordpress.com/amplifiers/hybrid/) is a treasure trove!
