Hi solderdude ! I read your review of this headphone (very good review indeed) and I found the passive filter description a bit confusing. On the one hand, in the review, it says that this filter works around the 7kHz area, but on the other hand, in the passive filters post, it says that this filter works in the 4kHz area. Could you clarify for me in which frequency range this filter works? Also, do you think it would be possible to replicate the filter effect using some EQ settings (for example using Equalizer APO)? I think this could be very useful in order to get an idea (more or less accurate) of how the headphone would sound with this filter. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for pointing me at an error in the review. The filter is centered around 4.2kHz. If you want to try set the parametrics to 4.2kHz - 5dB and set the Q so that at 1kHz there is no filtering anymore. I have changed the text in the article.

I've been testing this EQ setting for a while. With this EQ I find the sound quite smoother and cleaner, although perhaps a little muffled for my taste. I think a couple decibels less attenuation would have been perfect for me. In any case, thank you very much for your reply and your attention! Regards.

The filter can be adjusted to taste (say -3dB) Oh, that's good news! Playing with the EQ I find the optimal gain value at -4dB. At this value I find treble 'perfectly' balanced with bass and mids. So, would it be possible to adjust the filter to obtain a gain of -4dB more acurately (or between -3.5dB and -4dB)?

Yes, is no problem. For me it is a matter of changing a resistor value.

I was referring to a frequency plot of the filter (not the headphones) to see the attenuation and bandwith of the custom filter. Something similar like the one you shared on the first post: (if possible)

So, changing resistor values only affects the gain/attenuation of the filter, isn't it?
If so, like I said previously, I prefer a gain closer to -4dB (between -3.5dB and -4dB). This is the main reason I was asking about plot simulation of the filter, just to check the custom gain value (if possible) before ordering the filter.
