Hi Guys, I have an option on another roll of this for £19.00 (+ £9.95 for P&P but I'm collecting my roll from Derby): - uk.farnell.com/pro-power/3027454/cable-scrn-2core-7-0-2mm-100m/dp/1202694?Ntt=120-2694I have bought one roll to use to move all my transformers, PSUs etc. out of the listening area and place them out of the sight of SWMBO and into the 1M 'cellar' immediately underneath so I'd be interested in Frans' or anyone else's opinion on how suitable or otherwise it might be for that purpose. Anyone interested in purchasing the other roll or any that I might have left over please PM me for the seller's details. Cheers, Dave.

Not really very suitable to carry DC power IMO as the conductors are relatively small in diameter. At 0.09 Ohm/meter and say 5 meters of cable a total resistance of 0.9 Ohm is already present.
If you have regulators or nice big caps in the equipment itself that small added resistance isn't an issue and the cable could be used. It might not be suited for some equipment though (especially speaker amps).
For replacing power cables (so just to move power supplies out of the way) I would just use ordinary mains cord. MUCH more suited and screening isn't needed at all.
The cable can be used as interlink upto 25 meters.

Hi Frans, Sorry if this is another numptie question but, given that I have so much, would using 2 or even 3 lengths, twisted or plaited, to make up each length of cable, would that help to improve the suitability. My logic is that doing so would double or triple the cross sectional area bu beyond that I know nothing . FWIW my existing cable, which I aim to replace with this cable, was of similar dimensions and construction but obtained from an aviation products supplier as being of US military origin and specification where outside interference of any sort must be reduced to as near to zero as possible. Very expensive compared to this but sadly no longer available. TIA, Dave.

If your PS has just 2 wires you can use 2 cables and use each cable to replace a wire. When you tie the 2 inner cores and the shield together the resistance will be lowered considerable.
You can always give 1 cable a try and use the screen as 1 wire and connect the 2 inner wires together and use those as the other wire.
radiation or interference can only be eliminated when the screen was connected to the chassis of BOTH the power supply and the device which both had to have metal enclosures that screened. Military grade coax cables often had 2 or even 3 screens over each other where the outer one was more of an armour against damage.
