Playing around with this software player this morning. It works quite nicely and has some interesting enhancements as well.
I know that hi fi purists would turn their noses up at this, so may want to stop reading!!
First of all, plays a very wide range of formats including some high quality ones too. That's the hi fi bit.
It also includes adjustments that I remember a few years back were sold for quite big money.
a) digital equaliser. Ok - standard nowadays. This one is quite wide ranging with quite a lot of frequency bands.
b) a digital effect process in order to simulate rooms. I listened to Stadium which I presumed would sound bloody awful with a massive reverb. Not too bad and the sound does expand.
c) sound stage enhancer - the sound can be 'expanded' in width.
d) bass and treble enhancer - for those crappy earpieces?
Playing around with it is fascinating and to some extent, it does help to create your own concert experience with its room adaptations and fr controls.
Like having a portable mixing room!!
I haven't seen this one advertised or talked about, but it seems quite a powerful and nicely thought out piece of software.
For a few quid, it's not really too shabby. (So far) Although it would introduce distortions into the sound, careful use of the array of effects available works fine for yer standard portable mp3 washing up music!!
I'm looking for bugs on it and so far, nothing has screamed out on Android.
