I used to buy cheap pads from Maplin here in the UK but they no longer stock ones of suitable size. Searched on-line and came up with: www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/6235020602.html5 pairs of good quality pads for US $11.04. Ok, it took just under 3 weeks for delivery from China but it was worth the wait. Really good foam, good fit. How can they do it at that price? Regards, Derek

Is the SQ also the same as the pads have to 'leak' certain frequencies in certain amounts.
I know from some Chinese replacement pads (not the foamies) that SQ can change dramatically. Also the 'build quality' of some of the 'replacement pads' leaves a lot to be desired.
I reckon with foam pads the differences may not be that big though. These look (and probably feel) nicely made so good find and good tip.
I am almost through my stack of 10 foamies for KSC35/75/PortaPro so might look what they have as well. The original Koss foam pads do not last more than a few years.
A few weeks ago I replaced the (desintegrated) foam in the HD650 headband with fibrewool. That should work well a lot longer than foam.

Was listening at work today and didn't hear any effects that I didnt like. The foam is firm but acoustically transparent. I need to search through my odds and ends box to see if I have my old origanl pads. But at this price it's worth the risk. I know many people are fanatical about Grado pad quality and design. But these just work. Better than nothing if your originals have degraded too much. At a little over two dollars a pair? These will be just fine for anyone who does not suffer from audiophilia nervosa. Just fine.

Audiophilia nervosa!!! ? brilliant. I think I might have that. I use Senn 414 pads with mine. I have the 125i and the 60e. I bought a caseload of them a few years back as well for recording students. (Classes) They were a bit cheaper in bulk. The one thing I don't like about 414 pads though is that they shed little yellow bits on the inside if you take them off. Then you see little yellow bits all over the driver.
