Was wondering if anyone has listened to the Martin Logan Mykros 90 headphones and what their impressions are.
Newegg had the Mykros 90 on special (80% off)for $59 including shipping. I figured the folks at Martin Logan should know something about drivers so I bought a pair. I'm quite impressed with them for the price and I was wondering what the audiophiles on this forum might think.
For anyone interested they're on sale again for the same price.

I never heard them (nor seen them in the wild) Ultrabike at Changstar has listened to them and measured them. I kind of trust his assessments. little bass (on the one he had) and lots of ringing as well as channel imbalance. Maybe he got a bad one.

I kind of trust his assessments. little bass (on the one he had) and lots of ringing as well as channel imbalance. Maybe he got a bad one. Thank you for the link Frans. I don't have much confidence in my ability to describe the sound of these but I do like to listen to them....on the other hand, I like every set of headphones I own. I will compare these to the filtered Superlux HD681 and see how they compare. I have not noticed any channel imbalance. They also had to be burned in for a while. Ultrabike might have had a bad pair, but the bass is definitely recessed. The treble, however, sounds extended and smooth to me. I think that's what makes them so appealing to many. The soundstage is not very good at all and placement of instruments is vague. If the soundstage could be improved a lot I could love them. I will do a bit of research and see if I couldn't put the Mykros 90 drivers into a set of Grado cups. Might fix the soundstage problem.
