Wow Gordon. What a rich looking shot. Late afternoon light or early morning? The distant lake is so etched as well. Makes me wonder who's under there and what a view they're missing!! I just realised, on the front, the title of this thread is 'Easter' and when I post, you get ..... Easter Rabbit

That's a proper HDR image using five exposures bracketed 1 stop at a time in either direction. I used to have a thing for HDR but it eventually got done to death.
That's the River Tay in the background & the Kingdom of Fife in the distance. Late afternoon.

I wondered how you did that sky. So you've exposed for sky, land and any other dubious bits and merged them to get everything in?
Bit like selective compression in recording!!
Was it a very wide angle lens? Depth of field is quite superb and the two shadows go inwards towards each other.

I can't specifically remember what lens I used there but it was most likely a kit Nikkor 18 - 135mm using the wider end. To be honest most times my landscape HDR's don't work out so well. The wind is a constant enemy when the sky's in shot as the clouds will inevitably have moved between exposures. I guess I was lucky with this one.

It looks like a wide angle.
I went through phases of using telephotos for long periods and then back to wide angles.
One shot I did with a telephoto was at Crystal Palace, when I went to see Steve Ovett, the Middle distance runner. I thought I was pretty incognito and so tended to keep a long lens to enable me to take pictures in peace.
So I sat there with my 600mm lens. Lovely bright day so no problems. I took a close shot of Steve ...... He actually spotted me and waved at me while I took the shot!!!!!
I checked with him later and he had indeed, spotted me. So much for incognito eh?

Aye, I hate when you're using a tele for a people shot & you have that moment when the subject suddenly looks straight into the lens. Creepy, lol.

You're right .... It creeps you out because you see them so closely!!
Because of the sun's position in your shot, I started to look for your shadow. It's not there, but is commonly missed!!!
