I have a pair. These are the Pandora Hope VI you may have seen me mention? Final rebranded them last year for legal reasons primarily I think but name aside they're the same. Excellent headphones (best sounding closed back I've owned when used with the right pads) but they do come with some caveats. I've taken the kids to my mum's for the weekend so limited to my phone just now and typing is s-l-o-w but will post up some thoughts when I get home if you like. Let me know if there's anything in particular you'd like to know more about and I'll try to cover that too would be good to read your thoughts on these. thanks for explaining the name change, i had not heard that before.

I think John Lewis in Bluewater had the first model on display before Christmas. I didn't try them, but they looked smart. Because it was John Lewis, I didn't think that they'd be up to much since they were alongside Bose and Beats and were quite expensive. Good little headphone section up there in the top floor. will check in their Reading store this week. thanks for the heads up, Ian. dont see them on their website , though.

i did not have "run with high process priority" ticked in the aiso settings. maybe that is why? appears ok now. should i also tick the "use 64bit aiso drivers" box?

That will happen unless you use either WASAPI exclusive or ASIO as output. These lock the output device to themselves so no other program can access it. Sent from my GT-I9505 using proboards cheers Javier, i do have both installed and using ASIO according to my output settings.

for some unknown reason i do fancy a new desktop dac. i think my micro idsd will take some beating though. the S16 is on my shortlist along with chord 2qute , the teac ud503 and the upcoming idsdpro from ifi.
cost of course would be offset by selling my micro.
thanks for posting that Chris, hopefully they will review the others i'm interested in.

guys if i have foobar set up correctly for bit perfect and the setting in device manager ticked to allow programs to have exclusive control of my device, should i be able to hear sound from annoying internet video adverts mixed in with my foobar playback?

i have noticed a considerable difference between using the standard rca inputs as opposed to the "power amp direct" input. the sound quality on the latter is far superior. i guess this means the Ember is a much better pre-amp than the marantz built in one?

why is not everyone on the dsd bandwagon? with so many companies bringing out dsd capable dacs why is it some are not. monarchy audio is one example. schitt is another, although they did bring out the "loki" dsd only dac, which is now shelved!
