one of the used amps i am looking at is a marantz pm66-ki.
on the back of the unit by the speaker terminals it says 8-16 ohms. would the fact that the dalis are 6 ohm be an issue?

The trouble with all this modern shit that does everything is that it doesn't do anything really good. It's all mediocre. Boring. cant argue with that. i was never gonna buy it. i will search ebay for a used nad or marantz amp.

That'll do the trick mate but it's still not going to be great at low volume as I don't think any wee speakers are. Maybe look for something that would allow a sub to be hooked up? not really interested in a sub, plus the mrs would batter me! just wanted to ensure i was getting the most from these speakers, and i thought the denon was probably the weakest link in my system. if you think i would be wasting my money, then i will definitely try a used amp first. there are plenty on ebay.

Gordon, just curious to know what amp you are using to drive your speakers? i have been using one of these..... www.amazon.co.uk/Denon-D-M38DAB/dp/B003U9U7SIbut cant help thinking i could squeeze a bit more quality out of these Dali's with a more powerful integrated amp. (?)

Low gain. Low output impedance is what I'd use. thats good, same as my lcd2, cheers.

Modular PSU's definitely make things easier but don't go cheap. I had a much praised Vantage PSU that gave up the ghost in spectacular fashion. Stick to the big names like Corsair and you won't go far wrong. that is good advice, as i have found in the past.
