No interconnects - just a power supply or pass through cable. Is the passthrough cable the cable that gets your DAC output from Kameleon to the Polaris? Or do I need RCA cables to go from Kameleon to Polaris?

If you have a G1217 amp, you can use one single power supply to power the Kameleon and your amp (in serial). The output of the power supply is attached to the input of the Kameleon. The passthrough cable will provide power to your G1217 amp from the Kameleon. You still will need the RCA connectors as this cable ONLY supplies power.
If you don't have a G1217 amp, then the Kameleon will have its own power supply and you don't need the passthrough cable because the amp will have its own power supply.
EDIT: The dac is connected to the Kameleon via RCA, and the Kameleon is connected to the amp via (another) RCA cable. Basically you introduce the Kameleon in the chain. EDIT2: DAC -> (RCA) -> Kameleon -> (RCA) -> amp
Cheers!

The pass through cable carries power from the Kameleon to a Garage 1217 amp if you are using the amp's power supply to power both units (not sure if this cable is included if you opt for the Kameleon w/PSU). For audio you'll need to run regular RCA cables from Kameleon to Polaris.

Thanks guys, you nailed it. If a Kameleon with power supply is purchased, the power pass-through cable is not included.

I can use the passthrough on my Polaris, but I want to make sure that this filter works no matter what sorts of amp choices I make in the future. Plus, I'd like to eventually get an X2 module so my girlfriend can at least try it out with her headphones.

If you buy a Kameleon with power supply, it is universal. Meaning it will work with all amplifiers including ours. If you buy it with the pass through cable only (cheaper price) then it is for owners of G1217 amplifiers that are only using it with G1217 amplifiers. Hope that makes sense

He wants to know whether he can order a Kameleon + power supply (in case his wife wants to use it without his Polaris) AND a pass through cable so he can use the Kameleon with his Polaris and have the power switch functionality is what I think disastemouse is asking.
So if he decides to buy it he wants Kameleon + power supply (I assume 48V which he can even use as a spare + pass-through cable.

Not able to measure a few headphones that have been requested to create filters for.
I dove into the maze of different measurements and think I have come up with possible filters. I just need to get some confirmation on what owners feel could be improved about those headphones.
Philips X2: some slight warmth removed and a peak (some sharpness) in the treble removed, otherwise balanced. Sony MDR-Z7: warmth/muddyness removed and treble extension improved (think more 'shimmer' in cymbals and more lively strings) otherwise balanced. AKG-K712: subbass raised a bit, 'clatter' lowered just a tad, slight 'peaky' treble quality improved (quantity remains the same) Can't fix the 'dip' around 3kHz and even though the treble quality is improved it won't reach HD650 territory quality. AKG-K7xx (basically a K712 with just a tad more low end): same as K712 desription but less subbass added. AKG-K812: subbass improved, slightly more 'clarity' and treble peak/sibilance lowered (improved treble quality, not quantity. HD700: Slight removal of warmth (as in more neutral) and increased (sub)bass and treble peak removed (the treble peak seems slightly 'worse' than that of the HD800) TH-X00: I would guess that it only could do with a slight decrease of an upper treble peak (some shhhhh sharpness) ? The THX00 is already very close to neutral so the differences will be very subtle.
When readers have any opinions on these headphones or disagree what may need to be done (acc. to the graphs where the above descriptors are based on) then please let me know. The more info I get the more accurate the filter will become (without actually measuring them)

But two is more and more is better! HA! Kidding - Frans had the same suggestion right away too. Played with the design and indeed - better Everything is inbound As the web-page says, CNC chassis orders will likely be a bit delayed. It is quite a project to CNC them > add the grain to the aluminum > then anodize them > then machine them again and finally laser etch them. If delays end up looking bad, I will ship in acrylic and then CNC as soon as they arrive (not a long delay expected on CNC, week or two at most)
