I was sorting out my Photobucket bucket last night & forgot that it would ruin my images here. I'm an idiot. Anyway, could whoever deletes posts please feel free to tidy my mess for me. Delete all the last few with image placeholders. I'm going to send the photos to Garage1217 & they can do whatever they like with them.
Again, I apologize for my idiocy.

All sorted, Gordon. I know how you feel about the Ember going. I felt much the same when my Horizon went. Loved the amp a lot and really missed it, but I've managed to move on now!!!!

Thanks Ian, you're a star! Actually, this Ember isn't going quite yet. I'll get a chance to hear it alongside the Polaris and then send both onwards.

Oh, that's even better. You have a frame of reference to go from. The Polaris is less tube like although it 'imitates' the Ember. I like it as well as the Ember, but for the Senn.... It has to be Kameleon!!!!

Yes, it is the filter. It's excellent to say the least. It's just that the only access I have to the filter is via Fran's Kameleon at the moment.
One of the best combos I've heard.

I think I will, Simon. It'll be dedicTed to the Senn hd650. The combo is so good that the headphone basically isn't there in the picture. Also, the deep bass is sublime. It's like the ah-d600 in depth but with less intensity so that it's extremely well balanced.
In fact, so we'll balanced that I find it difficult to get the volume setting in a good place. It sounds great low down as well as high up in volume, but the impact from the dynamics of a good recording is just spine tingling.
I'll use the Polaris and Ember for the DT150/990/770 etc .... Anything that I haven't got a filter for.
I think the hd650 and Kameleon will stop me buying a headphone at a daft price tbh. (So actually saving money!!!)
Actually, the DT990 isn't at all bad either. Similar to the Senn and again, really improved. The Sennhas really nailed it for me though. It just sounds 'correct'!

Javier built mine really quickly. its a "no brainer" i reckon.

Actually, I'm thinking along the lines of a fixed Kameleon for the Senn and another external filter for the Polaris for DT990 and T40. They are just stunning really.
Have you got a Kameleon Simon, or do you mean that you had the amps built for you?
I'm terrified of building anything mains. I had a very close call with a synth and the fright stopped me dead. Almost literally stopped me dead as well! So I kind of 'fear' switching anything on if I did it. I know it sounds strange, but it really affected me. Used to do a lot when I was younger, but with poorer eyesight as you get older I feel very threatened by electricity!!!!
I kind of learned that you can't see it but it's deadly. One small mistake and bang. I even got a bolt from a capacitor once and that bloody hurt.

Javier built my filter for the lcd2. very quickly and at a very reasonable rate too. that is what i was referring to. maybe Frans should design a filter for multiple headphones, with adjustment by jumpers, now that would be cool! (but no doubt impossible for technical reasons) i would like to hear my d600 filtered too!

The Kameleon, Ember and Polaris (as well as the Solstice) all have exactly the same output stage.
The Ember and Polaris have much more power though.
There will be an inline filter for G1217 amps with input switches, a bypassable 'filter module' and possibly a power switch on the front that also switches the amplifier on and off. You can Kameleonise all G1217 amps with it. Will take at least 6 months before that becomes available though.
The Kameleon is really only intended for portable use though. The desktop version is a one-off I made because I ordered the wrong enclosure and thought I'd make myself a desktop version of it. The yet to be created G1217 inline thingy that accepts the filter module will be for desktop use.
The needed filter circuits are too diverse to create with potmeters or jumpers.
