This is another great example of a great community, made up of folks that care, I may have to get on the loaner list for a Polaris, just to prove to myself, that the Ember is all I need (I hope). Don

Just for a laugh...
I unboxed my V-Moda M-100's and hooked them up to the Ember. Wow! I wouldn't have expected them to benefit too much from the amp but they do. The bass in particular is outstanding now. On appropriate tracks it really is like strapping two subs to your head. The soundstage is bigger too. Treble exhibits a bit of glare but that's not so bad since the treble on the M's is a bit shy to begin with.
All in all, not too shabby at all. I'll try some electronic music this evening and see if I can still hear anything tomorrow.

I sometimes get little surprises when I hook cheaper headphones to an amp. You'd think low impedance means little power needed but they do need lots of current and sometimes it can make a difference. I find especially in bass clarity.
Px100 is one that seems to blossom. I always hook new 'cheap' headphones to an amp to compare them without, although you can have the volume higher which gives the impression of more bass.
I'm currently using a Denon ah-d340 for a little while. It also seems to sound slightly more focused on an amp but I'm not sure whether it's just a volume difference or real difference yet. It is sometimes there but very slight; normally more apparent in the bass which isn't necessarily louder, but cleaner.
We're very happy as hi fi people to hook amps up, but sometimes, there's enough power coming from a unit to drive headphones fine tbh. The Fiio x3 has plenty in reserve and so I find it drives most things pretty well tbh and don't get any difference hooked into headphone out, but the line out is slightly better in sound. However there's more going on than just power in that case.
Ipods for instance have a bass roll off from the headphone out that doesn't happen from their line out. Therefore, you'd think its the amp when in fact it's the source. Same for the Fiio. Line out is giving a better quality signal for the amp.
That's why I wasn't keen on the idea of a portable Kameleon without volume control.

What I had been reading you need an adapter from 6sn7 to 7n7 so I don't believe you can stack adapters. Might want to wait for someone more knowledgeable to give a more definitive answer. Did you win the 6sn7 auction?

I have not gotten a bad one yet, that light brown base tube looks interesting, when you get it, let us know what it was.

I think if you have an adapter that converts 7n7/7AF7 tube to a 6SN7 adapter and stick that in Jeremy's adapter it may well 'work' but it'll be stack of adapters. Fortunately Jeremy's adapter is very low profile compared to most other adapters.
