For the filterguide posts I use M3x16 bolts (flat head) so 16mm long screw threads. I secure them with a small washer ring + 3x M3 nut on top of that.
Because the jumper headers are longer/taller you may need longer bolts (say M3x20 ?) and may need either a spacer or more nuts to get it to fit correctly.
Indeed it may be best to wait with the bolts and nuts till finished with one filter. The trick is to use bolts that are high enough that the headers do not touch the socket yet when the filter PCB is obove it. Only when the filter PCB slides over the bolts will it be right above the socket. The amount of nuts will determine how far down the filter PCB can go.

I'll try my best to have your filters finished and everything shipped before next Friday but can't promise. Once shipped it should reach you within 5 working days, maybe less. Gonna be very tight timewise for me to case it up in those circumstances but, as stated before, whilst it would be nice to take it with me on holiday, please don't bust any guts trying to make it happen. I expect there to be many hammock opportunities after we return to enjoy it . Many thanks for your great work - much appreciated . Dave.

Well, I finally got around to drilling the panels for the Kameleon (it only took me 4 weeks to bite the bullet!) Not a bad looking beastie! I'm just waiting for a Farnell delivery on Monday so I can finish the DT1350 'big pads' filter. Then I'm set for my hols! Thanks very much Frans - it's a great little amp!

Nice one Dicky, I expect to be casing mine in the near future and now I know what it should look like ?When I've done mine I'll post pics but I can live without being told it ain't quite as good ? . Dave. PS smilies seem to be out of sync so don't pay too much attention to them ?

Thanks, guys.
I absolutely hate drilling holes - especially in thin metal. Lots of measuring and checking and the centre punch is your friend.
I bought a drill stand for the last job (active and external filters for T50, K550 681s) - but it was cheap (didn't want to spend a lot for once-a-year jobs). Trouble is, it was so cheap it didn't work! You get what you pay for and it ruined a set of end plates - it's now in a land-fill somewhere.
What filters did you go for, Dave?

Dicky, My filters were K551 (my cans were modded by Frans) and the Sub-bass, just to see what I thought of it. My boards are somewhere between Madrid and Sheffield and, as I go on holiday on Wednesday, it may be a while before I get to doing any metal butchery ? . Dave.

I expect to use mine mostly with DT1350; but I have a number of filters - modded K550 included - so that I can use the amp at work with more comfortable cans.

I'm happily waiting for my new amp from Javier Time to look for batteries. I saw the Vapex name and checked Ebay. They are there alright but the casing is black whereas in your amp Frans the casing is red. I emailed them and they say they are not LSD. Any thoughts? Thanks Syd

Syd, The specs for the black ones say: PP3 280 mAh Rechargeable Batteries Ni-MH Feature: Rechargeable Ni-MH 4.8V PP3 280mAh for Electrical Instruments High Shelf Life(80% initial capacity storage for 2 year) The Shelf-life of 2 years with 80% capacity means they are LSD. I think its safe to buy them on fleabay or directly here: www.vapextech.co.uk

Richard, that black enclosure looks really nice, a very nice build.
I will be building another (silver) one and plan to make lots of pictures and assembly tips. I haven't touched any of my other amps any more and use this amp exclusively.
Love it with the HD650, T50RP, DT1350 (currently fitted with the EDT1350NL pads, the EDT1350-SL pads are mounted on the Beyer T50P. My other headphones do not get much time at this moment.

Thanks Frans, I tried to see their spec before ordering or bothering you, I'm really surprised they didn't know this about their own product!
Duly ordered.

here is the LINK to the datasheet. As you can see on the picture it has a black enclosure but reckon all recent ones are silver/orange

I fitted the big pads to the DT1350s and finished the filter too. I'll give it all a good listening at work tomorrow - but wow the pads are sooo comfy!
I built the HD681 filter but I'm not sure I like it - it seems a bit lifeless to me - but it was only a quick listen. I give it some time when I'm back off my hols.
