I tried stretching the headband, Ian - but I was wary about over-doing it, so probably didn't effect much change. I like the phones - especially via the Kameleon now - but the buggers really hurt my ears after a while. Hopefully the new pads will give me longer in the saddle.

It's more comfortable than the hd25 now and with a lesser grip, it may well still seal, which is the secret to a getting a good sound from them.
If Frans tries the wider pads, then it's a no brainer with a filter imo. I suspect that the FR is probably very similar. I'm just reaping the benefit of the pads now fitting properly!!

The T50 pads were bad, it was near impossible to get a good seal/fit (terrible headband) They improved the pads with the DT1350. The newer DT1350-facelift and DT1350CC again have the new, and even bigger, EDT1350SL pads.
Ah well I hope all's well, ends well

There's one thing about the DT1350 which has always puzzled me. Why they put such a heavy duty 3.5 mm plug on with the screw fit for larger jacks. If it were meant for portable use, a smaller plug would have been better (or right angled) whereas for home use, a longer, more substantial lead would have been better.
I've always thought it was funny that such a fat plug was put onto the lead!
I wore them for most of the day yesterday with the new pads and they are an improvement as far as comfort goes. I'm not convinced that the sound has altered though. Just better because I get a much easier seal.

The DT1350 is listed as a studio headphone. It is not intended to be used as a portable headphone, but can be used that way of course. In the portable section the T51P is mentioned (along side lots of others) I see the DT1350 more as a tool than a hifi headphone but think it is much better than T50P and T51P

Yes .... even that is puzzling.
Lead isn't removeable. It's a bit short. It's also very thin. Top end is a bit zig zaggy unmodified. I guess it would pass the 'sit on' test.
Having said that - I have seen it being used.

It sure doesn't have the 'professional' look and feel of most other 'pro' headphones.
It seems they just 'copied' the T50P, made a nicer headband and slightly thicker pads, used a different colour (and driver ?) and called it a day.

Exactly!! Beyer seem to randomly put the label 'pro' onto their more expensive headphones. I must admit though, that the DT1350 is the best portable I've used. I'd still like it slightly tweaked by them though - Softer pads Smaller plug. Higher sensitivity. Less microphonic cable. Maybe a bit prettier for outside use. An inbuilt Frans correction. Apart from that, I really do get on better with it now!!! (To think, I nearly sold it too!!!!)

Would also like to see a less microphonic cable and bigger, softer pads. I like the plug as the kameleon has a 6.3mm output socket.
I have a few headphones that won't ever be sold (at least that's how I feel now). HD650(+kameleon), DT1350(+kameleon), T50RP(+filter/kameleon), K551(modified), KSC75, KSC35, HD681(modified) and that last one is for nostalgic reasons.

I also like the k612 a lot. Dt1350 has also become a keeper for me too. Sent from my GT-I9195 using proboards

DT1350 with EDT1350-NL pads (similar for the 67mm EDT1350-SL pads) driven from the Kameleon amplifier. The Kameleon article is updated (V1.08) with the DT1350 filter for usage with EDT1350-NL/SL pads. Needless to say it sounds great this way. The subbass is raised a bit but it never sounds bloated or muddy (rather the opposite).

Thanks, Frans. Looking good. I'm looking forward to the comfort more though!

The pads on the newer DT1350CC are also 67mm and somewhat thicker. Can the Polar Audio pads be the original wider Beyer pads ? The EDT1350NL pads (fake suede) change the sound in the same way as the HD25 pads. i am a tad confused Frans, you say that the "cc" model is the newer model. i have been looking on thomann and they have the cc model and also the "facelift" model. is the facelift model not the newest? as the name suggests.
