If you are going to listen to a lot of 24/192 then class 10 will be more than sufficient. I have a cheapy class 6 believe but my highest qual is FLAC 24/96.

I thought 64GB and 128GB are supported so SDXC must be compatible. The 256GB and recently 512GB cards will be very expensive and may not be supported yet by the firmware (which I recommend you put the latest version on it) SDHC is only up to 32GB (which I currently use).
BEWARE when purchasing of e-bay/Chinese sites cheap online 64GB and 128GB versions don't exist, they are fakes with only a few GB real memory even though at first glance and when looking at the properties seem legit.
The classes are actually meant for writing speeds which in general are slower than reading speeds. They are important when recording on them (video for instance)
Personally I would buy known brands and NOT the most expensive ones in that range.

There's a useful bit of software called H2testw that will tell you your actual capacity. Useful to check if you do have any cheap/ebay cards that you're not sure about. Better to know the actual capacity than overwrite your music/data/photos!

Stay with the makes that Fiio specify. It can be dodgy with odd cards. I use Sandisk class 10. You can go lower but hi res might play up and stutter. The ones I have are red and grey coloured.
I was tempted to get a 128gb, but given the interrface, it's easier with 32, although I do also have a couple of 64. The problem being that the interface is a bit crude and 128gb would give you an awful lot to scroll through if it was full of music.
Do you like its sound?

I use 128GB in my X3, Ian. I have 26 folders A-Z and store by artist under each letter. It works well for me.
Oh, and I only ever use Sandisk or Lexar cards.

I think that's the best way to do it. The filing system on the machine only allows so many files to show and the only way to see everything is via 'folder' view. So if you go into 'artists' it will only show so many; I forget how many it is and the rest aren't there. So if you use a really big card with lots of files, those views won't show all of your music.
Browse Folders does show everything though.
I actually got to that limit and wondered why I couldn't see the new files when the computer was showing them!!
To save time, you can switch 'automatic scan card' off. Then use the folder view and everything shows anyway. However, Artist, Album, Genre doesn't work then, but if you don't use it, it doesn't matter and saves a lot of time waiting for each new card to be scanned.
It's something that may be changed with new firmware. I think the x3 does the same.

Yes, so under folder 'D' I have a folder 'Depeche Mode' and then a folder for each album - and so on for other 'D' artists.
