Are you using ASIO or WASAPI exclusive (aka Event)? In any case, if you are not using DSD related stuff (DSD material or upconverting PCM to DSD) it should be very straight forward. How do you have Playback->Output configured? i have been so used to just using ASIO that i overlooked WASAPI Javier. the latter seems to be working just fine

hi Ian, sorry to hear you are suffering. i suffered a different form of SVT myself. mine was not AF but AVNRT (a v node re-entrant tachycardia) i suffered this for around 13 years and spent a few odd nights in A&E with heartrate around 240 bpm. when first diagnosed i was offered an ablation, but was too afraid to have it done. then just a few short years ago after losing my mum, i found myself in A&E more often, so i decided to have the ablation. after the procedure i really kicked myself for not having it done so many years before. i do believe for some types of AF they can sort it in the same way. caffeine, red wine and of course stress were my biggest triggers.

so do i. just like the micro idsd it's a bit of a swiss army knife. im hoping it can replace the ifi and schiit mani with no loss of quality.
i do have one query that i cant seem to find an answer to. nowhere in the blurb on pro-ject's website does it mention if the unit has galvanic isolation! does that mean that it is safe to assume it hasn't ?

i would really love to try the chord qutest but it may well be overkill for my system. i'm almost afraid to trial it , just in case i really like it. ideally though, my budget is around £500 as i have items that are surplus to requirements that potentially cover more than half that amount. there are a couple of used rme adi-2 dacs on ebay for slightly more money, but i doubt i would be able to get the best out of them, with all the option settings. so having hunted around a fair bit , i am thinking of one of these pro-ject offerings.................. www.project-audio.com/en/product/dac-box-ds2-ultra/cant find much in the way of reviews but may be able to try before i buy. to me the specs look ok, not that that means an awful lot

digging up an old one here, but as i am (again) interested to see if i can here a difference with dacs, what the heck
there are a few of the rme dac's appearing on the used market now. but i have been watching a "youtube" review and it does seem as though its intended for more studio scenario than home listening (as in me) in comparison would the teac ud505 not better suit the home listening environment? or even the chord qutest which only has a few selectable filters to choose from?
i used to own a meier stagedac, which had a few tweaks available but nowhere near as much as the rme, and i gave it away as i fealt the "tweaking" was just too much! i have also read somewhere that the rme can sound analytical where as the teac option has whats known as "velvet sound". any opinions?

ifi-audio.com/products/zen-dac/looks like a great budget dac for the money. considering taking a punt to compare with my idsd. i know the spec is less attractive, but if (as i suspect) i hear no difference, then i'd be quids in by selling my idsd. (seen one sell for £275 recently on ebay)

it appears the usb problem may not be with my new stick. even after a full format my front usb3 sockets struggle to recognise the stick. I forgot I had some usb3 sockets on rear of my case, works fine in those. oddly though, my selection of old usb sticks all seem fine in the front usb3 ports.
i may try some new usb3 ports to the front and see how that goes, i would imagine they are fairly cheap.

I don't mean to sound flippant but, welcome to Windows 10. (OK maybe a little flippant) It is strange that the USB isn't being recognised. That should be a pretty basic thing for Windows by now, I know the only time I've had any trouble is if I use the USB stick for a Linux installer. Perhaps a previous format didn't quite take and left you with some bad sectors. A full format(as opposed to quick)should fix that. If the format you did took a long time then it should be full format and hopefully that problem will be sorted. Out of curiousity what brand USB stick do you have? Do you have another to try? - just to see if it works any better Are you ripping directly to the USB or to your HDD first? I'd recommend ripping to the hardrive and copying the files to the USB afterwards. I have downloaded and installed the correct usb drivers from asus for w10, but that made no difference. when I plug the stick in the light continues to flash as though its being used by a program. it keeps appearing and disappearing on file explorer. it becomes impossible to "safely remove" and I just end up pulling it out. if I then plug in to usb2 port it is recognised, but windows says it "has a fault". I follow prompts to repair, windows then scans and says no fault found. any subsequent plug ins to usb2 are fine. the stick is brand new and I am tempted to return it, but it worked ok on w7. I have been ripping straight to usb so may try that next. last night I loaded ripped a different 4 albums direct to stick, but have not tried them yet.

it appears my problems have worsened since i upgraded to w10. my usb3 ports no longer recognise my new memory stick, so i have had to use the usb2 ports instead.
i have just reformatted the stick (took absolutely ages).
just trying to rip my first album to it, now.
did all this yesterday apart from the reformat and it was a mess when connected to my headunit. 4 albums i ripped and out of the 4 only one worked as it should(albeit with the album art missing). 2 album folders were empty and the other just showed as "unknown".

i play music direct from a usb stick and i did notice playback just stopped mid track the other day. i have since plugged stick into my pc and playback stopped on same track in exactly the same place.so now i am thinking that i may have an issue with the drive that i used to rip!! ?? Ahh, now that does seem like a corrupted file - could be others too. If you're checking out Foobar, there should be a tool to check file integrity. Sometimes it's a problem that can be repaired, but most often a re-rip the the best way to go. It also could be the USB stick is starting to develop bad cells. It happens, I just threw out a 8GB stick a couple of days ago because it was getting unusable… im hoping its not the stick as i have only just recently bought it. btw i'm not transferring files from my pc library. reason being that when i created the library i was just using foobar on my pc and didnt see the need for album art. now i have the nice new head unit, i really want the album art to display, so i am ripping again straight to the stick. i have never been sure of the best way to structure the files on the stick though. whether to have a folder for each artist, then sub folders for each album so any advice on that would also be appreciated?
