In few days there's a drop starting for these, and I'm a bit tempted. Searched the forum and saw no references... Any input?

Yeah If I remember correctly, GND and MIC are swapped. Also, the Apple remote has some other stuff inside, thus basic Android remotes volume controls wont work.

Cutting corners... I think I'll order Beats cable next week and do the female mod... Easier

Here's the deal: The shorter cable(s) I got with my Superluxes are way too long as I tend to keep the iPhone in my jackets breast pocket and almost a metre of the cable just hangs in there At work, I'm currently using a pair of LG buds that have a remote, even though only the middle button works with iPhone. What I'm thinking of is making a custom cable with iPhone-compatible inline remote, but cannot find any useful information... Now, I apparently need a 3.5mm right angle TRRS connector, cable etc. I have the earbuds that came with 4S, but it's so tiny that I doubt scavenging the circuitry from that... also, housing the circuitry is another problem to be solved. Apparently the remote housing is easily opened, and the swithes can be rewired...

After a lot of searching, there's no options to that jack. So, I will either need to run it without the silvery end cap so the connector fits, or just drill a new hole through the cup... The shiny outer ring is actually separate piece, but I'd rather not do that. Damn, I wish I had a 3D-printer

The new ones arrived, time to take old ones apart.
Edit: Damn, the female connector I have is like 0.5mm too wide to fit... Well, i need to source a new one. And damn the wiring is thin.

Oh blimey!!! What I don't get is how come your English is so good? It's something that has always amazed me. Your English is so good that I can't see you actually being Finnish. Frans is the same. I kind of assume that I'm speaking to English people because your language capabilities are excellent. Javier is frighteningly good and he's Spanish!!! Blame our schooling system I actually posted on Facebook about this... English begins at third grade, while swedish only at seventh - and it's our second language, penned down in the constitution.

Thomann sends me another pair. So, as soon as it arrives, it's modding time! (Keeping the parts safe, though, in case the new ones fault too... In that case T arranges for a pickup for them both for closer inspection)

The buckle is broken a bit, so that's not an issue The headphones are usable even as they are The rods hold them on nicely... But that headband is way too brittle.

Cheap plastic. Thomann ought to replace it, but if you've taken it apart, they might be funny. Luckily I've been lazy with my projects... But I think Thomann might just send a new pair instead of requiring me to ship this pair to them to be checked and fixed. Dunno, awaiting for their reply Anyhow, this would be damn easy to fix - I have an old leather belt lying around

And today the headband snapped from the left side. Just few weeks over six months... Drat. Wonder how the guarantee works with Thomann... Someone I know had that with the HD681-EVO as well. The headband is of the same constuction. It broke near the big plastic screw. Found a similar picture from diyaudio... Thomann has 3 years guarantee so I sent them an email.
