I'm loath to sully this good beer thread with a lager (even though it's called a 'beer'), but I'd like to draw your attention to a "Beer" I've come across called . . . Cubanisto . I found it in my local Morrison's although it's probably available in most supermarkets. Cubanista - Rum flavoured beer. It's actually a lager, but it's a smooth, non-gassy lager, so very easy to drink. And boy, I mean it's really easy to drink!sounds good. innes and gunn have a few to chose from shop.innisandgunn.com/collections?gclid=CPncoPTuscECFSXHtAodcwkAzwtried the rum one, but did not like it as much as their original. not tried the others

Hi Chris, just wandered through this beer sellers cellar, not sure if I posted about it before on RG, however here's a link to make your beer buds salivate, not far from you at Harrogate. Hope my boys are still wondering what their father would like this xmas, couple of text messages going out now. www.beerhawk.co.uk/

My mate Gary is coming around tomorrow night for a few beers and a listen while the girls are on a night out. We will be drinking this beer: Gary's son brought him it back from a recent trip to Germany, even though I lived there for 2 years I have never heard of it so I am looking forward to finishing work tomorrow tea time and having a rite good drink & listen After all, that what Saturday night is all about - right?

I don't know if you have tried this beer yet Alan? I thought it was a really nice drink so long as it is drunk at room temperature. It was brewed to mark the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain and 25 years since the original Spitfire Premium beer.

Hi Chris, I'm sure I had a bottle of Spitfire Gold a while back. Not too keen on it's older brother Spitfire, in the S/N stable I much prefer Bishop's Finger £1.25 at Lidl...... (Morrison £1.65.) Like you I buy my bottles at the supermarket, Lidl for price but they don't have much of a range. Their in house brand Hatherwood is pretty good. the Green Gecko IPA made for them by Wychwood Brewery I particularly like. Wychwood Hobgoblin Gold is excellent as are most of the brews made under the Marston umbrella. Roll on November.................

Hi Chris, that's an interesting brewery they seem to have a fair number of very interesting brews. Lucky you to be so close, I'd go for the standard IPA at 5.6% OR PHOBOS & DEIMOS RIPA @7%
Uhhh!! just clocked this one.............
"Say hello to our 100th batch, the big, bold and brash Mars has been in tank waiting for it’s awakening for the past 2 months. We are happy to say it is now ready!
This 11% Rye wine will reap havoc on your palate! Using twice the amount of malt, and over twice the amount of hops of even Rye IPA Phobos and Deimos, this is the boldest experiment yet for our team. Expect crushing fresh, juicy and resinous hop character, tied alongside a rich, complex rye and malt character, and devastatingly powerful flavours. What a way to celebrate!
We will be launching Mars at Garbutts bar, Hull at 7pm on the 28th August + 3 of our other beers for good measure.
Mars will be available predomiantly 30L and a limited run of 100 x 660ml bottles, get in quick…"
Get me a bottle Chris................ Alan PS 660ml btl..........30L is way too much
