5.1B is a smartphone version so I don't think it tries to charge when in sleep mode.
That is very odd. Perhaps Javier might have an idea as to what's going on.

Indeed the 5.1B is intended for use with smartphones/tablets. Though if it works...

seems to be working perfectly at the moment. my foobar upscales all my cd ripped flac content to dsd and shows magenta on the idsd led, apart from some 24/192 downloaded files i have in my library which of course show green. i set up a playlist alternating between the two file types and the idsd works perfectly well. it would not do this last night on firmware 5.1, so i will stick with 5.1b for tonight and may try 5.1 again tomorrow as a test.

Very odd.
Redownload the file in case it was corrupted?

the idsd had been fine on 5.1b for a few days, then last night the problem came back. tonight when i turned it on, the led was magenta with nothing playing! looked down the back of my pc and found the 5v psu to my usb splitter cable had become disconnected. lord knows how long its been like this. plugged back in now and its working fine again. unsure whether i should re-try 5.1 to see if that works now!? also on the "ifi control panel" what are the settings you guys use for usb streaming mode and aiso buffer? and yes, i am a numpty for not checking the power, i know.

If you can I'd recommend to flash regular 5.1 as it is the one indicated for PCs. For buffer I'm using "Extra Safe" and "8192". Better safe than sorry....

I tend to use coax from the Fiios Simon.
I'd go back to regular 5.1 myself as well. The mobile version is virtually the same except for the charging. It won't draw power from the portable unit when in standby otherwise.

Is it possibly a bad cable connection?

not sure mate, but i doubt it. i have removed the "dsd aiso" to see if that changes anything. currently on firmware 5.1. maybe the problem is foobar?

What a pain. I had trouble with the blue connecting lead which they changed. Apparently, some were prone to play up. Mine was connecting and disconnecting randomly until I moved the wire and watched. Then I realised what was happening.
The female part was able to move left and right with the usb plug inserted, which was making and breaking contact.
Sometimes, it can be something really basic and is so simple, we don't even look!!

I wonder whether your computer's spec is high enough for dsd? Mine isn't and I got sound at wrong speeds or no sound depending on the quality of the playback setting. Javier would know what this setting was because he set Foobar up for me. I keep my music on a low spec machine and it can't cope with dsd.
