...or if you are of a liberal mind "personal lubricant" could do the trick (I won't be responsible for your S.O's reaction to when you tell him/her that KY jelly is for your headphones ) xDDDDDDDD. I have to mark this day in my calendar!

If you have ALSO Polaris in mind for the future I would actually go for Sunrise (class A). It has a different topology than Polaris and perhaps that way you get slightly different taste of sound signature with the combo. I love my ember with HD650 and HE400i...never passed 11 o clock with the volpot.

I also use kameleonized HD650 and the combo is great. I agree with Ian, the HD650 without the filter sounds "empty" to me :-)

Hi Ian, I am almost pressing the button for the Byron. They look like a good piece! ;-) Thank you very much for the advice!

Just to add to the pot...have you ever tried in-ear noise cancelling phones? I haven't. Although I am curiously tempted... I am also economically discouraged ;-)

Thanks Ian, I am looking at those at the moment :-) I actually had the first Soundmagic E10 back in 2011-ish (?) and from memory they were quite good, I had totally forgotten about them!
I also have owned a pair of Yamaha EPH-100, sound and comfort wise EXCELLENT, but they self-destroy after 2 months of usage (literally).

Better fit. The problem with the Shures is that they have a weird conduct sticking out, so the silicone tip needs to accomodate it. I seem to sit between two sizes of the included ones: the smallish comfortable one does not seal properly so I get no bass, and the somewhat bigger seals ok but I cannot wear it for more than 30 minutes tops.
Sound wise I quite like them.

I need some advice...I have ahead 5 months ahead plagued with a list of +5 hours trips (for work). I am not looking forward to those hours in planes, but I thought I could perhaps try to find a comfortable good-sounding in-ear set for those trips. All that google could tell me is that Bose QC20i are better than anything else...(really?).
I will appreciate any tips and suggestion that could help me to find a good model!
PS: I have a pair of Shure 215 (blue edition) but they become rather uncomfortable after 30 minutes of use.

Hi Frans, thanks for your answer, please don't waste your time on this, it was just an idea that perhaps may appeal others in the long term. The reason why I asked is that I needed one more Kameleon inline filter for home use and at first thought it sounded like a good idea, but I will buy it from tupisac. I would like to build my own portable Kameleon-2 (or Kameleon-3 if I keep waiting ;-) ) just as a fun project...but I never get time to do it with my two sons around. They require too much attention given their ages :-P
BTW, would it be possible to add just a little more bass/subbass (fun!) to the HD650 filter module by changing some of the components? I don't want much more, but I could use a bit more if it does not rattle the drivers.

I think you should keep the Modi MB and check the interest for your Mojo ;-)

Thank goodness for that. You've saved me a lot of money Frans!! No, no. I think what Frans was trying to say is that we should buy two or three and daisy chain them for maximum benefit xDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD.

So add a line-out to the portable/desktop version ? The problem would be that the line-out would go through the volume control of the amp. Would be a question of adding 2 resistors and 2 line-out RCA's in that case. Yes, something like that. Any chance to avoid the volume control?

Frans, have you ever considered creating a modified version of the desktop/portable version to accomodate the functionality of the inline filter + desktop/portable amp? That way it would be possible to use it also with tube amps and as a standalone amp...
