It is too bad considering the 150s are really good phones. Huge soundstage for a pair of closed earphones from what I've read - my first and only pair of closeds. Hopefully a pair of replacement drivers aren't too pricey otherwise I'll be shopping for a new pair

Stuck driver was one of the things I first thought of. I had the same thing happen to my PFE111 (BA iems). A quick blast of extreme volume, a audible click from the bad armature, and all was go (and still is). Tries the same thing with the HP drivers and all that seemed to do was make the distortion louder. The drivers do have a hole in the centre of the magnet that I can (very)gently blow/suck through and hear a crinkling from both drivers, but obviously I can't see how much the diaphram is moving (probably shouldn't try this too much though)

Both drivers measure 32.8 ohms
Tonally, hard to tell because of the big level difference, but the "bad" driver will start to distort at volumes over 80db. The good one can easy handle the +-86db.
Haven't removed the drivers from the baffle, but from what I can see through the grill, the membrane doesn't look dented or ripped or otherwise wrong.
The headphones are long out of warranty, but I'm pretty sure the driver has blown somehow. I have sent an email off to see if its possible to get a couple replacements (assuming I should replace both drivers)

I'll ask the question here since solderdude is mia at the moment I got a pair of Soundmagic HP150 that suddenly went south on me. I recently swapped back to the stock earpads, and for some reason unknown to me (possibly the same gremlin that ate my P1) one of the drivers is way out of balance now and the phones don't have nearly the volume they used to (I can max my X3 without ripping the phones off my head in pain). It isn't any of the wiring that's causing the problems. I used a different chunk of headphone cable directly to the driver today and measured +6db of difference between the drivers using mono pink noise. Can't see anything physically wrong with the driver in question. Any ideas what's going on? Cheers

I've see people who'll always swear by Sandisk and others that curse the things. So far I haven't had any problems with mine (kingston, patriot) so I really think its mostly a lottery. Strangely enough, Ive read more complaints about the full sized SD cards.

I have posted on their forum a while ago, but got no response. Not really looking for any troubleshooting here, just wanted to see what anybody else's experiences were on this front.

Has anyone tried out the upnp streaming function? I got the ios version, and it does connect and play fine from my WD MyCloud but it won't show all the music. Example: if I go into the artist index stu, it will only show the s artists

It is a far more "upscale" looking amp than the nx1. Hows it for RF interference. I completely forgot about the nx1 issues with that until I was given an iphone and couldn't figure out what all the scratchy noise was about. The thing that impresses me most about the nx1 is the stupifying battery life

Wasn't thinking anything dangerous. Maybe instead of being full of money, the wallet is full of used toilet paper <grin> that'll learn 'em

Wow. That's well thought out. Good idea on taking a pair of "disposable" phones. Never know when something is going to get lost/stolen/rained on/etc. For my "exile" I stuffed my X3/e12a/pfe112 into my Pelican case and was all set. I was going to be staying at my mothers place during the evac so I didn't need to worry about theft. Also since I wasn't sure what/if anything was going to be left when I got back, I also stuffed my Fidelio X2s and Trinity Delta into my backpack on my way out the door. Not exactly a vacation situation, but I did ensure the survival of my fav gear, and it turned out to be a rather convenient way to carry my gear

Figured it out. For what ever reason, when Firefox updated it reset all my adblocker/privacy settings (which I had previously disabled for this site). Disabled (whitelisted, actually) them again and all is good. Thanks

Anybody else having a problem viewing this website after the latest Firefox update? (all text, no formatting) I had to use Chrome just to post this question
