I still own a Cyrus 2 (toggle switch ver.) + PSX and a pair of Mission 763i's stored up on the attic.

Crikey. The caps might be a bit dry now, but I quite liked the Cyrus 2. Had quite a bit more kick than the Cyrus 1 which was pretty low powered. Is that a 60 watt amp?

IIRC it had 50W by itself and parterend with the PSX it went up to 65. I haven't fired it up in the last 15 yeras so anything is possible. It has some weird 4 legged caps which I believe are quite hard to find so if they have dried up it may be as good as dead.

What a pity. Yes, I forgot that I also had the psx. That was a in pace amp. Unfortunately, Cyrus always pushed something that Frans isn't keen on ..... PRAT. Old Norman, who used to make and sell the lovely little GoVibes also used to go on about that!! The Mission cable was nice in that it was flat and could be easily run under carpets. That was the first time I heard a difference with a cable. It was silver core and made everything seem even brighter, so I went back to copper. Didn't like the sound.

I've only heard one headphone 'break in' as well. It was a Superlux that had no bass at all. I was going to either send them back or chuck them, when 30 minutes later, after they'd played half a CD, they suddenly had bass. I was really shocked, and started to read burn in threads more seriously. However, that was the only time I ever heard it.

It looks sensible, Simon. Good solid plugs and the sleeve looks 'rubbery' so will hopefully be quiet when it touches anything.

thats what i thought mate, and not silly money either. the original audeze cable appears fragile but its not. i have stood on it many times and it has not broken yet. this is the first reasonably priced alternative i have seen, without importing from aisa that is.

TBH, I don't get too excited about cables. I just get something that has reasonable plugs that look like they'tt take a bit of abuse. Even microphonic cable (up to a point) doesn't particlarly bother me, although I do know that some are irritated by it. I don't think I move around that much.
The d2000 cable is unwieldy. I find that annoying because it almost develops a memory for kinks.

Both look good to me Simon. I couldn't get at the feedback on my Ipad. Are they criticising the seller or the lead? The lead looks great.

Although I'd have to class mmyself as 'cable sceptic' I thought it time to upgrade my 1970s Monitor PC 'shotgun' leads. Did some searching and plumped for Atlas Equator 2.0 at £6 per metre. Looks very good, reads well, sounds good (?). Well, sounds perfectly ok. But then I'd expect it to at £6 a metre. But that's really cheap in hi-fi terms. www.atlascables.com/equator-2.0.html
