will block the glow from tube led though. (?) That would appear to be the only negative. It does look stunning. There's more than a hint of Nissan GT-R styling there.

It will not block glow under the tube as the LED is under the tube and shines up through it. The light will actually light up the whole inside and any openings / sides. Should look pretty neat. Cannot wait to get pics. The solstice chassis above has a 34mm hole to accommodate 6sn7 and 12sn7 family / size tubes. Will see how it looks like mini 9 pins. I think it will be OK / still look good and give a glimpse into the guts of the amp.

Price has turned out great and is looking as follows: $24.99 for a bottom plate only (does not add a ton of weight but does add some) $44.99 for a top and bottom setup (costs me less purchasing them in sets so passing it along)

It looks a bit 'Beyer' dt150 like Jeremy!!! Germanic perhaps? It certainly looks more 'tank' like. The extra weight may help stop it sliding around.
I still fancy a plate glass etched version but I know it's expensive. Swarovski like..........
I think I prefer the sleeker look of the Polaris in this guise.

Stunning! The Polaris definitely suits this look better than the tube version. But I'll probably take a set for the Ember too.

It definitely suits the solid-state architecture better than the valve ones in my opinion. Actually it looks superb and makes me wonder about the Polaris now. And there's the Kameleon with filter...

Thanks everyone - I appreciate the feedback! I sent out emails tonight to all G1217 owners that I have on the mailing list. The buy on these starts now and will run through the 20th. I decided to do a buy on legacy amplifiers such as Sunrise I, II and Horizon II. However, this is a ONE TIME THING for legacy owners. Once this buy is over - it is over for legacy product. Pending how things go with this buy will determine if I carry these going forward. I think it will go well but who knows For those that were not as fond of the chassis on the tube designs, I can say, when you see it in person - hold the amp and such. It really does grow on you quick!
