It wouldn't be cheaper for Gordon unless he shipped both amps to you (which is a possibility) and you could ship both of them to me afterwards. I would have no problems with that. Or, I could have the Polaris sent to you directly in case Gordon still declines the offer. I need to know within a few days though... I promised the Danish guy I would let him now where to send it soon. i dont mind either way. i would like to try it , as i intend to get one at some point later in the year. Any chance of a listen to the Polaris after you Simon? That's if it is OK with you Frans

What about if I send the Ember onward to Oldson, whilst Denmark ships Polaris to me? That maybe makes my postage rates less I guess so we would have to work that out if it matters. I've no idea what shipping costs but I'll find out. Actually there's a fair chance it would be cheaper from Denmark to the UK than internally. Nothing would surprise me. Anyway, I'm easy with whatever anyone else wants basically. I think I do in all conscience need to hear the Polaris but I really like the look with that black top-plate.

That's cool with me. I'll send the Ember to wherever Frans wants.

If there are no Ember takers in the UK (it has toured in the UK already) than it could be sent back to me.
The Polaris will be sent to Gordon. You can keep the Ember and compare it directly to Polaris and then send the Polaris onwards to Simon and the Ember to me.
Will save you one trip to the postal office.

Don't worry Simon, I won't keep the Polaris for anything like as long as I've held on to the Ember. I just need to determine if the increase in quality the Ember brings (as compared to the O2) is down to the extra power or the valve. If it's mainly the extra power making the difference then I'll order a Polaris. If it's the valve then I'll order the Ember. I've done a short appraisal of the Ember in the relevant thread if anyone's interested. It's not scientific but neither am I.

What about some photos of the Ember with the black top-plate? It would be nice to show it off on HF.

I did not have a proto of the Ember made yet - it will look as good as the others so no worries The protos are very expensive and overall it is costing a metric shit-ton to have them made for each amp design (will likely not see any ROI on this chassis deal until maybe next year if sales are good on them and if not - will loose ha! ). That is why I did just the two protos for now - running the buy to gauge popularity and will keep them as an option going forward if sales are good enough. This is just one of those things I have always wanted to do for the amplifiers so I am rather excited that time has come! When you guys get them in hand, install them... it is quite impressive.

Here we go Just got back from my laser engraver / cutter. All turned out beautiful and exactly as planned. Dead sexy in person. I really thought the weight would not increase much but to my surprise, these babies feel hefty now when assembled. I guess from a designers point of view, showing parts in production does not come across well to the end user. But once you see the assembled product - it rather pops Jeremy I am now really interested in the Polaris and had a look at your website for more information, it sure looks like it might be on the cards? I downloaded the manual and found a small error you may want to correct. Page10 it says Completed EMBER layout and photo. Keep up the good work
